Automated Handling Time
A couple of weeks ago Amazon set up the NEW Automated Handling Time system on my account. I didn't receive any emails about it and didn't find out about it until I saw in the left corner of my seller account that my late dispatch rate had increased. I immediately went in to check my shipping settings to find Amazon had set up the automated handling time to one day. For the last 5+ years I've been set to 2 days. I changed it back to 2 days.
I spoke to Account Health who explained what had happened and said to raise it with Seller Support (groan) who would remove the threat on my account.
I've now spent nearly a week receiving accusations from Amazon claiming that I had made the change to 1 day delivery, or I had allowed someone on my account to make the change. I've been threatened to have my inventory made inactive. I've emailed over and over again stating that the change was by Amazon and as soon as I saw it I changed it back. I am now receiving garbled messages from Amazon which make no sense at all, and now stating that I have to do a questionnaire about the late delivery or my account will be taken down.
Where do I go next? I will not be accused by Amazon of sending out late deliveries when it was Amazon that changed my shipping settings. Account Health agree and sent in a report but Seller Support don't bother to actually look at evidence or any of the screenshots I have sent them, its just copy and paste. I need someone at Amazon Seller Support to take some responsibility and look into my account - hopefully someone with an ounce of knowledge will finally actually step in.

I know very well that what has happened to the OP here has happened to SEVERAL sellers including ourselves.
Can this be resolved for the OP? And while we are at it, can you explain why Amazon believe they have the right to amend sellers handling time?

We also got switched over to Automated Handling Time without any notification at all. In our case - fortunately for us - I noticed the shorter-than-usual 'dispatch by' dates before there was any impact. Still, I was pretty irritated when I dug into our shipping settings and discovered what Amazon had done. This is the kind of thing that really makes me despise Amazon, and it happens regularly. It's as if they're deliberately trying to screw over sellers. Really, really bad behaviour.

There's another short thread about it where a mod got involved. Maybe they can help? https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/seller-forums/discussions/t/b7b88a4b-57a4-4f76-b46d-697fd986b20a
They did it to my account and at least a few others. Luckily I spotted it after a day. It WAS most definitely THEM, not us that changed it. They've done it before.

HAd the same here and maybe ignored the phone calls from amazon as they always sound like a con. Eventually had our fbm suspended went through the hopes and apologised then looked into it and changed it back to three days. Yes we normally ship same day but sometimes things happen like a weekend or bank holiday that throws things out. As a good point though on here its a rolling month on ebay its a rolling year and we had an issue with a couple of popular products oos at our wholsalers which gave us a lot of late senders but we cant work through that cause each time a new month comes up you lose the good sales from the month 12 and gain the good sales from month 1 and your rate stays the same

Yes I had the same, fortunately I caught it with only one order showing incorrectly as late.
Furious as when you want help to change things such as photos, size etc they do NOTHING! But something you do not want them to change, they take it upon themselves to do it.

Yep, happened to us too.
Unfortunately fighting with amazon AI or their seller support is a waste of time.
You will just have to suck it up. And hope any late shipments don't screw over your account.
The problem Amazon have a near monopoly on online sales, so if you want to run your business on here, you have no choice but to put up with the near contsant attacks on independent sellers

Hello ,
On 30th April I received an email from Amazon Europe <noreply@sell.amazon.com> headed "Enrolment into Automated Handling Time" and starting
"Dear Brian,
We notice you handle your domestic MFN orders faster than your current settings. Your performance shows that you would benefit to enrol to Automated Handling Time. Therefore on 15/05/2025, we will enable Automated Handling Time on your account. No action is required from your side. You can deactivate it if you prefer to continue with manual Handling Time settings... "
It is possible (but [perhaps unlikely) that if you refer Seller Support to that email (which seems to have not been circulated widely enough) they might accept that as evidence that Amazon made the changes to your account...
Why Seller Support is not aware of thios email or the automatic changes that resulted to many Sellers' Accounts is an obvious question...
Worth a try?
All Best
Brian

This happened to me but I WAS sent an email telling me when they were going to do it so I changed it straight back. I will look for the email and C/P it here for you as it may help your case proving Amazon did it (aaah I see someone else pasted, yes the big switch was on the 15th, not the first time either)
