As there has been no definitive response from Amazon regarding the GPSR responsible person and compliance details we have decided to take the matter up with the EU directly and we are writing to 4 MEP's today and asking them to explain what exactly a responsible person is and who is responsible for submitting the information to Amazon and labeling the products with said information.
4000 of my EU listings are due for removal on the 13th December and they all require the responsible person and compliance information to be added, the issue is that the page Amazon has does not give any supplier details and there is no search function and even then how is a seller supposed to know who the responsible person is and what their exact contact details are?
None of the largest manufacturers or suppliers have their details in the Amazon list and the seller is expected to submit new details for the responsible person.
Surely the manufacturer should be responsible for registering and adding the details not forgetting that EVERY product must now have the responsible person details and compliance details on the products. Who is going to label those millions of products already in the system?
I really wonder whether Amazon will remove the millions of listings that do not have the details entered, it is evident that Amazon are not ready for this and who is going to label the millions of products already in the Amazon warehouses?
It looks like the only option for UK sellers will be to have UK only and forget anywhere outside the UK, ironically including Northern Ireland which is now subject to the legislation.
For sellers on Amazon selling into the UK either from the UK or the EU it looks like most of their listings will be removed on the 13trh December and both their sales and Amazon's commission will plummet.
How is a seller possibly supposed to know the full responsible person details for every product they sell and enter them into Amazon one product at a time, it simply is not possible.
We will be urging the EU to further postpone this legislation as evidently nobody is ready.
To conclude every single non food product in existence in the EU or being sent to the EU will require a label with the responsible person details and the compliance details from the 13th December and for every violation of the EU policy there is a fine up to €35k, I wonder just how many non food products exist in the EU that now require this information? Billions?
Any comments?

Also, note that amazon state that none of this information needs to be provided on Amazon UK, even if you do sell into the EU/NI.

And just to note on the above - GPSR (at the moment) doesn't apply in GB - NI it does. That being said, its rumoured the UK government may introduce their own legislation.
