item returned out of the window return window

A customer placed an order for a Samsung phone from us 89 days ago, initiated a return 2 days later, and returned the item 85 days after the return request. Amazon processed the refund same day as the customer opened the return request. Could anyone kindly clarify Amazon's return policy in this case? Isn't there a rule that the customer's credit card is charged if the item is not returned within 30 days?

Additionally, we are trying to open a SafeT claim since he returned a Chinese iPhone clone and ordered a Samsung, but we are unable to do so because claims must be opened within 60 days of the refund being processed. Given that Amazon handles refunds for hundreds of customers, how are we supposed to track who has returned their items and who hasn’t?
