Music needs approval

Hi, can any one help us - we last sold items on amazon when it all seemed so easy! Having recently opened a new account to sell our collection of “used” CD,s and books I now want to start listing things for sale. Previously when selling on Amazon, I just used find the item and then list mine for sale. When I tried to list a CD that I have, it tells me that I need approval to sell this item in the music category. To get this approval I have to supply documents that I do not have. I only have one of this item. Can you help me please? Am I missing something?

I fear you may be in for a suspension for a linked account, as Amazon will probably pick up that you have had a selling account before.

Amazon has changed a lot in the last few years and require much more documentation.
What sort of account did you open ? - a Business one or an Individual one ?

CDs/music has become a gated category and I believe they are not accepting anymore sellers. Even long-time sellers are barred, though I would have thought you should be able to add used items.

As has been mentioned, you should look into your account(s) status.

Books are basically the last part of the BMVD category that is not gated. As you’ve discovered, getting to sell even used CDs will require an invoice for new products. Even then it seems most applicants get rejected.

Hi thank you so much for getting back to me. I opened an individual account. yes we did have an account from before that was suspended over a very trivial thing. It took me five years to get it reinstated. During that time, despite many emails no one got back to me. Then finally out of the blue one day someone called, listened and agreed with what I told him and got it reinstated for me. so we set up the account and then had this stumbling block. I have tried contacting Amazon numerous times (again) but none listens to what I am saying and just redirects you to the process. Or they do not answer at all.

By the way none of the CD’s are new, they are my own collection from years of collecting. How would I have invoices etc and if there is only one of them. Sorry to be obtuse but what do you mean by “gated”?

Hi thank you all for your comments. Having only just recently found this forum, I appreciate that people do answer me unlike Amazon! I have tried what I would call popular and non popular CD’s - in other words a random selection. No luck of even getting to the submit stage. To be honest I am getting to the point where 1. it is all to much hassle and 2. I feel a growing dislike of the platform. I might persist or I may give up all together. If they don’t want me as seller - their loss!
