Grocery / Sports Supplements category has been randomly gated, with no explanation.

In late December, we found all our listings had been hard gated. We were not notified of this and have been completely unable to find out why this has happened. We have been an Amazon seller for 9 years and have sold on this category on Amazon USA for nearly all that time. However we are still seeing lots of sellers on our old listings, based in the UK & USA, still selling. So we are very confused what makes us so different. Why are some sellers still allowed and some not. Example ASIN: B0B5TWQ9PN

I don't have a case ID, this is a problem with continueing to sell all our products on Amazon, why can't we apply to sell item in Grocery /Human Ingestible. Why is Amazon hard gating us without reason?

Amazon requires approval to sell in many categories, brands, and products and in some instances restrictions and policies change. While you may have been approved in the past, as the Amazon catalog grows, we continuously make new determinations on which products should be restricted, which is based on a number of factors. Amazon does this to ensure authenticity and customer satisfaction.

For this reason, you may be required to gain approval to sell certain products. In most situations, a direct invoice from the manufacturer is required.

A letter of authorization (LOA) can be a valuable addition to your appeal in these situations if you’re sourcing directly from the brand or their manufacturer.

There is no option for me to apply to sell through, my entire catalouge just says:

"We are not accepting applications to sell:

Other Human Ingestible products in New, Used, Refurbished, Collectible condition(s)

Other Grocery & Gourmet Foods category in Used, Refurbished, Collectible condition(s)"

Why is this, how can entire categories be hard gated without explanation or option for appeal?

In some instances Amazon isn't currently accepting any applications to sell a product. In this instance the product is also prohibited from being sold in those other conditions. However, this product isn't accepting to sell products as New either.

I do recommend that you create a case with Seller Support to have this restriction reviewed. Once you have done that, please share your case ID and I'll look into working with the team to review this further for you.

Thanks for sharing your case ID. At this time you do not currently meet the criteria required to list these products. The category is restricted currently. I would recommend monitoring the Categories and products that require approval and Overview of categories pages to check if the requirements for your category changes in the future.
