Moving to Ireland

I am moving to Ireland and want to transfer my buying and selling accounts there.

Has anyone here done this (doesn’t have to be Ireland) if so how did you do it?

Seller Support gave an incorrect answer to me about building international listings and haven’t been a lot of help so far.

Any ideas anyone?

if you mean Eire, they don’t have a separate account to Uk, you’d just change your addresses on here
if FBA, you will need to register for UK VAT to continue storing stock here

This may be no use to you at this stage if you have already started on your own journey trying to sort this but I have done this but in reverse…went from an irish company to a uk company because we moved from the republic of ireland (ROI) to the UK.

Firs thing, you don’t have to lose your listings and/or feedback but you need to have your ducks in a row…

  1. If you are a limited company in the UK, I would suggest setting up a ltd company in Ireland before you attempt to do anything
  2. If you will be above the vat threshold in ireland, you will also need to register for VAT in ireland
  3. If you plan on storing stock in UK, you will need the irish company to register for UK VAT and obtain a UK vat number. So you new irish company will have an Irish VAT number and a UK VAT number to enable UK VAT returns.
  4. Set up a euro bank account and sterling bank account in ireland for your irish company
  5. Get a good irish accountant - try and get one close to the border between NI and ROI as they should be familiar with people who operate between Ireland and UK so knows the in’s and out of what way trading works and vat etc.

Lastly, when you have all this sorted, go through the account transfer procedure on amazon - this will enable you to transfer your current amazon account for your UK ltd company to the new entity in ireland. They will ask you who the beneficial owners are etc and for your vat details and bank account details so you need all this in place before you start this.

I did this all and the account was transferred in minutes really - provided you have everything set up correctly for your irish entity BEFORE you start the process.

Hope this helps and good luck!
