A seller offering a free product with an actual branded item?
Hi there
please would someone be able to clarify the position for me. Another seller (and i have seen many doing this ) is selling branded items on amazon that we too can buy and therefore sell on amazon. We can’t sell on the listings as they are offering a free item with every order that has nothing to do with the branded item. Is this allowed ? It seems that they are doing this to stop other sellers from competing with them and therefore stops customers getting the same actual item at a better price.
Thank you in advance for your ideas.

Of course, this isn’t allowed as long as they aren’t offering it as a proper bundle under their own barcode.
To fix the listing and correct any mentions or pictures of the free item, you will need to open a case with the Seller Support under “Products and Inventory” - “Product page issue” and “Fix a product page”.
You will be asked to provide some proof supporting your desired updates, such as a link to the manufacturer’s website.

You can not do it on the original manufacturers barcode. As that relates to the tent itself. If it is using the manufacurers barcode then report the listing
But…
There’s nothing to stop a person from listing the item on the barcode and then setting up a promotion to give away something else with each purchase.
Amazon will then show the promotion alongside you as a seller. So you list the tent on the manufacturer barcode. You then list the lighter seperately.
In promotions you set up the promotion to giveaway the lighter when someone buys the tent.
On the tent listing page, if you have the buy box Amazon will display that there is a promotion and free lighter with every purchase under the listing.
If you don’t have the buy box then when someone clicks on other sellers, next to you as a seller Amazon will display promotion available.
This is the only way you can giveaway a free item on a manufacturers bar-code and stay within Amazon terms.

Not if it is a bundle you are listing. The manu does not have a barcode for that.

The manufacturers EAN Barcode should only be used for that item and does not include any type of freebies or bundles. To check the Barcode they are using simply go to add a product and enter the Barcode that you have. If they are using the Barcode that you have for the item you need to report the listing via Seller Support. They can only set up the listing with freebies or bundles if they create their own EAN. You can then list the item correctly, albeit with a bit of of ping pong with Seller Support
