customer has not returned merchandise

Have a customer that bought an item early june. Tracking says delivered june 9, but he claimed never got it and eventually filed an A-Z claim and got refunded. (I do not use amazon shipping) Now he says that the package arrived late and no longer wants it. Amazon provided a UPS return label almost a week ago but UPS has not received that package as yet. the original USPS Tracking for the original shipment to customer does not show re-delivery (don't know if they would do that)_. AMAZON customer service says I can reopen the A-Z since customer now acknowledges receipt of the package but has not returned merchandise. Is there really a hope that they will re-open the A-Z claim and refund? This never happens to me (I usually have great customers!). Anyone, thanks in advance for your thoughts on this.

Amazon gives 'buyers' some ridiculous amount of time to actually ship the items back.

You could TRY to open the case again but are more likely to be told to WAIT for the return because Amazon is always 'flexible' for BUYERS!

Amazon gives 'buyers' some ridiculous amount of time to actually ship the items back.

You could TRY to open the case again but are more likely to be told to WAIT for the return because Amazon is always 'flexible' for BUYERS!
