Sending into Amazon FC
Hi Guys,
Stock has arrived and im currently in the process of sending it into Amazon FC today.
i have bought cardboard boxes from B&Q as well as bubblewrap. I just want to make sure these are accepted on delivery to the FC. I also have heavy labels on each side. Do i need anything else such as country of origin?
I have arranged SPD with UPS and im going to drop it off at my local drop point. Will UPS arrange an appointment with the warehouse themselves or is it something I need to organise?
Kind regards

I’d look at elsewhere for your boxes and bubblewrap… You need to be looking at trade prices for anything decently priced, otherwise, I’d argue, you’re paying too much. I wouldn’t recommend buying it from Amazon either, your local stationer if they deal with wholesalers will be able to get you a good price for a decent sized roll. I’d recommend a good heavy tape especially if they’re classed as ‘heavy’. I use a relation of duct tape as we find it’s the only thing that can take the weight and size of the boxes.
No, you need your FBA label, your UPS label, heavy labels (if 15kg or over).
Yes, they’ll have a booking slot already.
Depending on the size and weight, it may be easier to have them collect it.
Have you read the seller uni on sending in a shipment?

Just a few tips from an FBA veteran which you might find useful:
-
Don’t buy cardboard boxes. Get them for free from supermarkets. They’re only going to be recycled anyway. Just ensure that all barcodes are covered over, though we also wrap in brown paper.
-
Don’t buy bubblewrap, buy a shredder and shred all your waste paper. You’ll be surprised how much of it you come across.
-
Recycle any packaging that gets sent to you, especially Amazon packaging. We even recycle the thick brown paper bags they send us stuff in. We open them very carefully so they can be reused.
The moral of the story here is that new packaging materials are expensive, even more so from a retail environment like B&Q. We’ve never bought a box for donkeys years; Tesco provides as many as we want, for free.
You can fill the void with any packing material in the acceptable list, though I have used shredded paper without issue, for 8 years.
Good luck with your first shipment

my units are very close to the top of the box opening, im worried when they cut open the box it will damage the boxes. have you had any similar experiences when sending too amazon?
