Shipping Rates by Zones?
Does anyone know if there's a way to setup shipping / template prices based on customer zones or regions?
It didn't used to be that big of a deal, but now there is quite a big cost disparity in shipping an item from one end of the country to the other with USPS increasing pricing AGAIN.
Amazon prides itself in providing real time shipping information to the customer and it seems it would also make sense to provide a real time, accurate shipping price too. That way a customer can decide if they want to have their item shipped from clear across the country for a higher rate, or select someone closer with a potentially lower shipping rate.
Since this option does not appear to exist, we've had to increase our rates across the board to compensate for the differences in carrier zone pricing, which penalizes some that are physically located closer to us.

For standard shipping you must offer the same price for all the contiguous states. You may have separate rates for Alaska/Hawaii and for territories.
You may have different transit times by region.

Appreciate the quick, helpful reply from April above as always!
As an oft-discussed topic there are many past threads and discussions around this here on forums, but I'll monitor this thread for further questions.
