Sometimes.

They can access the .com website; however, individual sellers can opt out of international shipping (either completely, or to select countries). There can also be items which cannot be exported, so those also will not be available (or at least, should not be available.)

If you want to sell to Europe, or block buyers from Europe, you can set that in your Shipping Templates for FBM. I think there is a way to not show your FBA offers, but I don't recall where to find that; but with FBA, Amazon does all the work, so not a big deal. Note that the shipping rates to some European countries can be quite high, so make sure that you charge enough shipping to cover those prices.

Yes they can, IF the Seller has opted into International Selling.

I do not, as Selling domestically on Amazon carries ENOUGH challenges to avoid being defrauded, and I shudder to think of how that multiplies for International orders.

Also, it is a rare occasion when Amazon correctly determines the Postage for a Domestic Order, so I have absolutely NO FAITH in International Postage potential problems.

Yes. The only problem is there are no European buyers. Fe only the UK has English as language. The other countries have their own language and label laws and tax laws. Really tough to sell all over the place products that comply in the US and that still comply with all local laws.

I believe they can as long as they have a US mailing address.

That would be someone using a freight forwarder. In those cases, you are only obligated to pay the shipping to get it to that address; the customer will pay the FF all the shipping fees to get to them ,as well as any customs or import duties. So these sales, to the seller, are just like US sales; and your responsibility ends when the order is delivered to the FF (if the customer later claims INR, as long as it made it to the FF, no refund).

But if you have your templates set to allow it, you can also ship orders to other countries. Some are more of a pain than others. Enough so that I generally don't offer international at all anymore.

Has anyone ever enabled the "Allow Amazon to buy my products to sell globally" under the Fulfillment by Amazon Account Settings? Amazon takes all responsibility, but they reference the Global Sales Report for you to see what has been sold, but this makes no sense since the sales would show up as U.S. based sales with Amazon as the purchaser? This is NOT the scenario where you set up global accounts in other countries. We just enabled some countries, but don't think there is a way to see the sales associated with this program since we can't "see" the buyer name....which would be Amazon U.S.

FBA - 100%, since Amazon fulfills it through their networks.

FBM - I believe you have to enable some type of setting. It's not an automated op-in.

Yes, buyers can indeed purchase items through Amazon US and have them shipped internationally. This is possible when you enable the FBA (Fulfilled by Amazon) Export option in your Seller Central account. To activate this feature, navigate to your account settings, look for the Fulfilled by Amazon settings, and then find the Export settings section. Here, you can opt-in to allow Amazon to resell your products in other marketplaces globally. Amazon handles the logistics, including shipping and customer service for these international sales, albeit with a markup for these additional services. However, it's crucial to consider your brand's strategy, especially if you're operating at a larger scale with distributors in various countries. Activating this option can inadvertently affect your distributors' pricing strategies, especially if Amazon's resale price undercuts theirs. To manage this, Amazon now allows sellers to select or restrict countries for their FBA Export settings, providing more control over where your products are sold internationally.

For brands with international distributors, carefully selecting the countries allowed for FBA Export can mitigate potential conflicts over pricing and market positioning. It’s advisable to regularly review these settings and adapt your strategy as your business evolves and expands into new markets.
