These "affected listing" emails are getting ridiculous

I’m sure other people have been getting them.
It’s where Amazon send an email out saying that

Dear Amazon Selling Partner,

One or more of your offers is currently ineligible to be a featured offer on the product detail page because those items are not priced competitively.

To provide customers with a great shopping experience, we consider seller performance and price competitiveness to determine eligibility to be a featured offer. Consider lowering your prices to increase the likelihood that your offer is price competitive and features on the product detail page. You can check Seller Central for a suggested lower price or use Automate Pricing to ensure that your prices stay competitive.

Stupid thing is that i’m literally the lowest priced seller on them (way below the RRP) and even sellers who are doing FBA aren’t getting the buy box

I’m getting them too. The buy box is disappearing on some of my items where I am the lowest priced FBA and I’ve held the buy box for a week or more. I’ve had it on about six items now.

This is due to their “Fair Pricing Policy” and it will keep happening if someone sold the same product for a much lower price than you at some point in the past.

As someone who sells collectibles, this is causing me a lot of trouble, because my items are supposed to be resold at a much higher price, since they are rare and no longer manufactured.

Yes,got one yesterday o none of my best sellers, they seem to think selling below cost is a good idea!

I am getting them too. It seems to be directly linked to the shipping pricing error that was present the other day. As soon as they fixed the issue, it triggered the ‘affected listing’ problem on random items in my inventory. Very annoying!

We got ‘recommended’ to sell something for £1 when the postage costs more than that!

yes but basically amazon want you to sell everything for nothing other than their commission so they are the cheapest place in the world. they dont care if you, i or anyone else makes money or not.

they are creating a race to the bottom.

I’ve had several for the same product, and Amazons suggested price is £2 less than the trade price I have to pay to buy it!

Pricing parity was a thing because a few years back I received a warning for selling an item cheaper elsewhere. I believe a German seller took Amazon to court over it and that put pressure on Amazon to stop - the ruling was EU wide probably was around 2013 and it hasn’t been an issue since (though not something Amazon announced). Obviously outside the EU they continued to do it, so it’s a problem UK sellers may face in future…

If Amazon want lower prices then maybe they should reduce their fees!
This ties in with Amazon ending its restrictive pricing practice aka “pricing parity.”
