Why Amazon Discriminates between sellers in REFERRAL FEES ?

Why Amazon is Charging 10% referral fees on my ASIN B0CL7Q43ZR (Car Electronics > Car Video > On-Dash Video) ,

while Amazon charges 5% referral fees on ASIN B0CX5CKV66 (Car Electronics > Car Video > On-Dash Video) ?

It is worth to note that both the item are exaclty same category and browser node. i.e. Car Dashboard Camera.

May I know why such discrimination ?

Should I Contact CCI or try sending Legal notice to Amazon ?

Pls help me determine.

Note to be read by Community Moderator before posting any reply:

1) I have already approached seller support. Amazon BOT , sorry , customer care keeps sending TEMPLATE Reply and keep beating around the bush.

2) I sent my grievance to Amazon India on TWITTER but they asked me to contact seller support.

3) I have 50+ ASINs from different famous & big brand who are enjoying 5% referral fees while the small sellers like me are paying 10% referral fees for the same Browser Node.

I want to know the exact reason and please note that I will also include this thread in any legal notice I may issue after discussing with other sellers & legal teams.

Other sellers might know better, but I think that if you bring Amazon a certain level of business, you get discounts on your fees....I'm not entirely sure though. But the problem with customer care sending template replies is a very real problem. I think all sellers will vouch for that.

CCI won't be able to help you in this matter, it's about discount. Amazon may have given them discount based on their sales. Rather than wasting time on legal matters, I would suggest you to get some good Account manager and boost you business to the level that amazon will offer you discount.

you must take the step and raise concern to cci as they are blindly doing this with sellers... no one is here to listen......

bargaining power of those brands is higher than your brand.... as simple as that.. so amazon bends a little in front of them

you are right, they do provide waivers to sellers who sell really well. once your product starts to consistently rank and makes good sales, you will also get waivers on fee. It is not about big or small brands, you give good sales, and maintain regular sales rank and you will get waivers too. It is not as if you list your product and become the king. It takes time and patience and a lot of work on the product.
