VTR rate has just deactivated my account for selling music

I am in complete shock, I had over 1100 items for sale in my inventory now I only have 191. I found out that it's because I didn't use tracking for my low value orders for music (less than £5) & I'm only able to charge £1.26 for shipping anyway. My buyers have always received their items via 2nd class post nothing going missing. This is an injustice as I've been selling on here for nearly 15 years and this has never happened before. God amazon love their geeky metrics but to most people it's just plain annoying. I've appealed of course because it's affecting most of the orders that I get on here.

by 2nd class post do you mean you're sticking a stamp on?

if its 2nd class letter post it must be bought via Amazon buy shopping and this has been the case for a good while now.

Large letters are slightly different but you still cant just put a stamp on and mark dispatched

You do NOT need to send lower value items by a tracked method, and 2nd class is fine - that is what I use for all of mine (also media items - mostly books, but some CDs etc). If you are on the individual plan, then unfortunately 1.26 is the default for CDs (I also have them in my inventory and it never covers the actual cost of postage, so you need to adjust your selling price to compensate).

How have you been confirming shipment ? - as that is the key to maintaining a good VTR - mine has been 100% since they introduced the metric.

Your best option going forward would be to use Amazon's 'Buy Shipping' - and in your appeal to reactivate your account, tell them you will use buy shipping - when you print off the shipping label they automatically confirm shipment so you need do nothing more, and your VTR will be fine.

Presumably the 191 items you still have active are a different category ?

This has been the case for well over a year, you dont need to send everything tracked you just need to record it in the right way. just confirming as 2nd class is not the right way

I don't understand why they said my VTR was only 7.14% It says you need 95% or more of orders tracked I think It's not clear at all though & pretty confusing.

Firstly, you don't have to send low value items using tracking - and (assuming you are on the professional seller plan) then you can set your own postage fees. To be on the safe side in future, buy your postage direct from Amazon. Hope you get Amazon to understand your dilema!
