Can't get approved to sell alcohol?
In order to sell on Alcohol, they need two licenses, a Personal License, and a Premises License both of which as an alcohol producer we don’t need to sell alcohol. We have our AWRS & WOWGR, however, Amazon don’t accept them and we get the same standard reply
The document provided by you do not meet our requirements. To allow us to continue processing your application, please address the following issues:
- We will require “Personal Alcohol License”
- We will require “Premises Alcohol License”
Please respond to this case by providing documents that remedy the issues described above.
I have spoken to live chat about this and they are not helpful at all. I am lost for how I speak to someone higher up about this issue?
Iv seen the other posts on here about similar issues but not about how they resolved the issue.

I am by no means an expert, however a brief investigation indicates that both of these relate to wholesale (b2b) movement of alcohol and excise issues arising.
If you are selling on Amazon your sales will be retail sales to individual customers which is why I presume they require individual and premises license.

Amazon always required those two documents in order to approve sellers to sell in the category.
Even if you are not required to have them by law, Amazon may have stricter requirements so I am afraid that your only option is to comply.

You 100% do need a premises license and personal license to sell alcohol online - our company has just gone through this process.
Both licenses are issued by your local council and are a legal requirement, it may seem daft that you need the same license to sell alcohol online as you would if you were running a nightclub, but that’s the law!
