IDR (Invoice Defect Rate) - Risk of deactivation? First timer - HELP!
I’ve just started selling on Amazon FBA, sold my first item a few weeks ago and I’ve received an email saying my account is at risk of deactivation due to a high IDR.
I’m aware this is to do with providing invoices and VAT however I’m not even a LTD company yet and no where near the £85,000 target to become VAT registered, so I can’t sign up to Amazons automatic invoice generator and as I’m so new to this, no idea how to generate invoices myself but Amazon can’t seem to help me on either front.
I’m thinking I may have set up the wrong level of account for someone just starting off so trying to change my account level but in the meantime, does anyone have any idea what to do and has anyone experienced this themselves?
Would appreciate any help, thanks!

Yes you can
You don’t need to be vat registered to do this- amazon will just send non vat invoices on your behalf to your business buyers
Go to settings, account info, vat calculation services and sign up as exempt from vat
What do you mean by this ? You don’t need to be a ltd company to be vat registered or sell on Amazon- many of us are sole traders
whats important is that you are registered with hmrc and amazon as a business account ie sole trader and not an individual as this will cause account suspension and penalties by hmrc

Look up invoice generator and produce one with your details on and the details of the business transaction. Doesn’t need to be any mention of vat as you’re not vat registered.
If you go to your order list and filter by business customer you’ll see the ones that need doing. Then just upload it to the order

Yes you can.
Amazon policy: " Sellers exempt from VAT registration in both EU and the UK can let Amazon issue receipts on their behalf at no cost by declaring their VAT exemption."
Just click this link, declare VAT Registration Exemption and Amazon will automatically send a receipt to each buyer when you process their order…

Hello DanRainsbury_UK,
Selling Partners are required to provide Amazon Business customers with a valid VAT invoice or receipt for each order within one business day after an order confirmation. All Selling Partners can receive orders from Business Customers regardless of whether they have enrolled in the Amazon Business program. For this reason, all Selling Partners selling into the UK stores will need to ensure they have a process to meet this requirement for all eligible orders.
Thank you @The_Little_Shop & @ShadowFax for the inputs.
Requesting you to follow the same.
Regards,
Amar.

In the meantime, manually generate an invoice on invoice-generator.com, it’s very simple
