❓ How to Focus Your Amazon Selling only on the UK Marketplace
As a new Amazon seller in the UK, it's important to have control over where your products are listed and sold. While Amazon's European marketplace integration offers exciting expansion opportunities, you may want to start by focusing solely on the UK market. Here's how to adjust your settings to sell exclusively on Amazon.co.uk.
Why Focus on One Marketplace?
- Simplifies your selling operations
- Reduces complexity of managing multiple marketplaces
- Allows you to master one market before expanding
- Helps avoid unintended international orders
- Provides better control over shipping costs and logistics
Step-by-Step Guide to Limiting Sales to Amazon.co.uk
1. Deactivate Other European Marketplaces
- Sign in to Seller Central
- Go to Settings > Account Info
- Select "Holiday Settings" for each marketplace:
- Amazon.de (Germany)
- Amazon.fr (France)
- Amazon.it (Italy)
- Amazon.es (Spain)
- Amazon.nl (Netherlands)
- Amazon.be (Belgium)
- Amazon.pl (Poland)
2. Update Your Shipping Settings
- Navigate to Settings > Shipping Settings
- Uncheck international shipping options
- Ensure only UK shipping methods are selected
- Save your changes
3. Verify Your Settings
- Check that your listings only appear on Amazon.co.uk
- Confirm your shipping options are limited to UK addresses
- Review your account settings to ensure all changes are saved
Future Considerations
When you're ready to expand beyond the UK market:
- Reactivate desired marketplaces by removing holiday settings
- Update shipping settings to include international options
- Review local regulations and requirements for each marketplace
- Consider using Amazon's European Fulfillment Network (EFN)
Pro Tips:
- Keep your listings updated while marketplaces are inactive
- Monitor your account settings regularly
- Save your original marketplace settings for future reference
- Document any specific requirements for each marketplace for future expansion

❗ Remember: You can always expand to additional European marketplaces when your business is ready. Starting with a focused approach in the UK market can help build a strong foundation for future growth.

A good post @Julia_Amazon, especially for those of us who do just sell in UK, BUT several years ago, some of we longer time sellers had Poland added to our marketplaces without even asking (and some reported other EU countries too added without consent), and still sits on my dashboard, even though I have NEVER sold outwith UK. I have it on holiday settings which is fine, but many of us complained at the time, but it seemed impossible to actually remove the other countries from our account info/dashboard - just have to ensure always on holiday setting.
