Error 8040 turning in to nightmare and no help from seller support PLEASE someone help

Error 8040 turning in to nightmare and no help from seller support PLEASE someone help

We create listing for the brand after error5461 and 8040 with variation them and send them to FBA. I've been doing this since 2013 on amazon.

After units received at FBA, amazon randomly break the relationship and turns ASINs in to search suppressed. - There is literly NO Change or nothing in these ASINs.

And thn the nightmare begins -

When try to recreate the variation it start giving me same error 5461 and after clearing that one more time, it gives me erro8040 and seller support disapprove the variation which was on the first hand created after approval.

There is literly no help and each answer from seller support makes me feel like crap.

It seems there are some glitches in amazon inventory system and without any concern small seller like me is punished.

@Jessica_Amazon_ I saw your forrum post and hope you can help me here.

Brand : Sonic The Hedgehog

Error 5461 cleared multiple time in case ID: 9798916552

Error 8040 Case ID: 9705216172 approved on 14 April 2024.

Now these units were sent to FC after all prior approval and after few days relationship broken and listings turned"Search Suppressed" - There was no change in the istng from my side.

When I contacted support to know the reason for broken relationship they kept forcing me to recreate variation and when tried to recreate started facing these errors again.

Sorry but it feels like there is no consideration and case was replied and closed rudely and with undersone that says stop contacting amazon.

All these ASINs are FBA - paying fees without sale and support.

Did you get a chance to look in the matter?

Its turning in to nightmare and all my previously created variation are broken without any reason and I am unable to re establish them due to this error.

My business is suffering and losing sale with massive drop in sale due to this problem and will really really appreciate if someone can help me on the matter.

Hi @Julia_Amzn Just to let you know, after a real long chan of messages and waiting for days this issue has been solved, mostly.

Clementine from executive team helped me and most of the listings are now in variation and in nearly original status.

At the same time, I still want to know why it happened? And why seller support were not able to help me and infarct support had made this issue more complex by suggesting whatever answers.

To the best of my knowledge there is no answer for this as it always happens in summer time each year when amazon decides ro change or makeover its inventory. But please prove me wrong and let me know if there was anything they I could have done to avoid getting in to this situation.

Just to reiterate the scenario -

1. Creating listing manually with proper variation and approval

2. Sending them to FBA

3. After few days of units received at FC and EU listing created through BIL, variation gets broken and child SKUs turn in to search suppressed status.

4. After that is a big black hole and some what rude and unhelpful seller support.

Just trying to understand what went wrong so it can be avoided in future.

If you ever get any insight to this issue I would love if you could share itbecause we are seeing the same issue in our account. Hundreds of products monthly get kicked out of variations with no warning or explanation and we are far too familiar with error 8040

I have the same issue as this. With ASIN's randomly breaking away from the parent.

It seems to stem from not being authorised to create ASIN's for that brand. Although I have been approved numerous times for these brands.

It is a major headache as it can take days with Seller Support to get permission to list the brands again. Sometimes you just give up as they are totally useless.

Today I have checked and I have around 10 Parent ASIN's which have lost their children across 2 different brands.

If it was an easy fix I wouldn't mind but I know it will be endless emails backwards and forwards with Seller Support to fix these issues.

I have tried to apply for Disney products again.

I was definitely told that they were not accepting new applications. Maybe this was a mistake.

Disney is the one issue I now have left to resolve.

The amount of stress and time I have put into these issues are just stupid.

I dont think seller's are restricted from creating DISNEY brands but the issue is with variation and old listings.

Oddly, many of my other variation listinf under the brand DISNEY seems fine - or should i say fine at the moment.
