what right to Amazon have to tinker with my handling times?

I had my FBM account set up just the way I wanted it until a few days ago when without warning Amazon added Automated handling time and changed my handling time from 2 days to 1 - meaning I had to sent orders out first class instead of my choice - which has always been second. First class is hardly viable as a lot of my orders are for £2 or £3.

I've put my handling time back to the way it was, but I'm seriously peeded off that Amazon can make these unilateral changes to FBM account. What next - teeling me brush my teeth before I dispatch an order? Put on clean pants?

Can't argue with it - it's your business and your choice what handling time you apply.

While I can see the logic if they see you are processing orders faster than your handling time its still your choice.

Sadly - simply no real route to complain (and of course if you hadn't noticed and not shipped the orders on time - your account would have been in trouble!)

There have been a few threads from sellers in a similar situation and other threads of odd things going on around that same time such as prime badges disappearing and even Amazon listing themselves as a new seller.

My suspicion is rather than an intended change it may have been an unplanned consequence of a systems update.

Same happened to us but we did get an email a week or so beforehand advising that it was happening so I was ready to change the settings back straight away.

same happened to us . I changed it back to 48rhs even though we do ship NDD as sometimes there is courier problems. It just give you that breathing space and then the customer cannot claim late delivery. Amazon leave are shipping settings alone

I agree - Its a total disgrace

Amazon have absolutely no right to arbitrarily change things on our accounts

They did it to me as well. It would be one thing to suggest that you adjust your handling times, but just going ahead and doing it is unacceptable.

Yes, I nearly always beat my handling times, but I set them as they are because:

a) It gives me breathing space

b) Large orders will still be sent out on time

c) Royal mail is pretty unreliable

This has happened to us at the weekend. We are out of the country on holiday so upload a file everyday to lower the despatch times as we get closer to coming back (we started at 14 days then came down) Amazon in their infinite wisdom decided that they'd automatically change the handling times of our listings to 1 day instead of 10 days!

We had to cancel 40 orders which then as you can imagine has lead to account deactivation warnings of pre-cancellation rates. Phone calls and stupid messages. It's their fault but they won't take responsibility for it. If they are going to implement a *NEW* system then why don't they default it to off so it's our choice to use it or not.

Best thing is their system doesn't work properly as some items had the proper despatch (or should I say production time) and other didn't
