Prime shipping with less than 20 sales a week
Hi everyone,
Wanted to apply for prime delivery, im packing orders, but i need to provide business account number from royal mail. I cannot open business account as my sales sometimes less than 20 per week.
So its mean its impossible to get prime if you have less sales. Is that correct?

You must meet one of the following criteria:
- You must be able to ship at least 10-20 packages a day (50-100 a week) with Amazon Shipping.
- You must have a Royal Mail Business Account with access to Royal Mail’s Tracked 24 and Tracked 48 services.
- You must be able to ship at least two parcels a day with DPD.
What about DPD?

Normally you need to ship a 1000 items a year for a RM business account, you might get a slight uplift in prime sales - worth ringing RM to enquire

If you are unable to open accounts as you are selling a low quantity, have you thought of sending your product to amazon and use their FBA service?

My experience was that when shipping low volumes, Prime was not feasible for me. I fell foul of the on-time delivery criteria if even a single parcel was late due to a courier delay. I was then excluded from Prime for 3 to 4 weeks (which could fall at a peak selling time). I haven't been on Prime for a while, but based on my experience, I believe you need to be shipping large volumes for the stats to work.

I wouldn't worry about getting onto Prime, idon't actually think that Seller Fulfilled Prime is much good, as because you need to offer free shipping you need to raise your prices to cover 24 hour shipping. This makes them more expensive than normal products being shipped with standard shipping.
In our experience our customers would rather pay less and wait a day ot two extra to receive their goods.
On our website around 99% of customers opt for second class post rather than 1st class post, even when there is only £1 - 2 difference in price.
