Customer opened a return after two years and got a refund
Hi all,
Customer opened a return which was Ordered: 672 days ago
Item was a printer and the return reason was Item defective or doesn’t work
Amazon have accepted this return and have given a prior refund plus return delivery cost.
This item is out of warranty by a long way, is there anything i can do?
Thank you

Open a safe-t claim. Even if the item offers an extended warranty that would be with the manufacturer rather than the retailer and only if they have registered the product.
A few months ago I had a professional grade printer pack up after about 18 months, made a claim via the manufacturer as fortunately I had registered it for the extended warranty, who called me back and went through various tests/resets by giving me instructions over the phone, then declared the unit kaput and arranged an exchange for a refurbished unit two days later. The retailer wasn't involved at all.

Nothing surprises me with Amazon these days; however, was the refund covered by Amazon or from your funds? I have seen them cover such a refund from their pocket.
I hope there is an option to challenge the refund.

If you sold new
Amazon is required under UK/EU law to allow returns up to 2 years on electricals where its not fair wear & tear and 672 days is within this legal time frame so as said by others raise a Safe-T claim to try get cash returned
Consumer Rights Act 2015 ::::In both the UK and EU, if you buy a faulty electrical product, you have statutory rights to request repair, replacement, or a refund from the seller. These rights generally apply for a minimum of two years after purchase. Additionally, the UK's Right to Repair Regulations require manufacturers to provide spare parts and maintenance information for certain appliances for extended periods, promoting longer product lifespans

It doesn't give Amazon the right or permission to issue a refund prior to giving the seller an opportunity to fulfil the UK/EU policy. Orders will normally disappear after this period, Amazon had to dig deeper to bypass their own return/refund policy for this to happen.
