Wrong Product Catergory on Product Detail Page, Amazon not updating

Good afternoon!

Unfortunately, one of our new ASINs has the wrong Product category listed on the listing page. However, when I go to edit the listing the correct browse node is in place.

Last week we created multiple support tickets but every time Amazon just responded with a boilerplate response that the product category can not be updated as the correct product category is in place.

Incredibly frustrating as the product category that is displaying is completely unrelated to the product and costing us a ton of sales :(.

Has anyone experienced similiar and found a workaround?

Thank you in advance for any help.

We encountered a similar problem where they altered our listing category and then claimed it was initially incorrect, despite it clearly belonging to the right category from the start.

I engaged in a lengthy exchange with them for two months, but their stance remained firm. It felt as if they were the manufacturers themselves.

My only speculation is that the issue might be related to a specific keyword in the product title or description. Amazon modified the category even before we had a chance to upload images, enhance details, or send the product.

Took me about 8 months to actually find the issue to a problem I was facing.

I understand the frustration.

Not sure if its the same problem you're encountering but....

If your facing an 8541 error or something similar where the category nodes differ.

Have a look at what category the "conflicting value" is.

I would then first check bullet points, titles, etc.. to find potential words that might make the catalog think it belongs in a different category, then look to find a different way to present the information adhering to Amazon T&C's.

I hope that helps in some way & you manage to resolve you issue.

We also encountered a similar issue, and after a considerable amount of time, Amazon has finally corrected the categorization of our product.

When we opened a case regarding this matter, we provided screenshots from the incorrect category where our product was mistakenly placed by Amazon. Subsequently, we included screenshots from the appropriate category where our product should rightfully be listed, highlighting similar products in that category. In addition, we thoroughly explained the distinctions and emphasized how it would enhance the shopping experience for Amazon customers to have our product placed in the correct category.

After waiting for 1-2 weeks, our product listing was ultimately rectified and moved back to its original category.
