Help: why is my scar cream being taken off the shelves

This product was withdrawn from our catalogues on 28 October, for the following reason: B0CNQR256R, B0CQ2NG28Z, B0CVTRWGY8, B0CTSZTND2, B0CQLKHJRW, B0CNVQGT56 is prohibited from selling this item on Amazon.co.uk. We used a combination of automated tools to determine this issue and make this decision.

However, I checked the relevant Amazon policies and didn't see any relevant banning instructions, contacted customer service and the response was that I didn't find any scar cream banning clause.

And the current market scar cream sellers are normal in the sale, my product certificates have been provided for review, security audit to verify the success.

May I ask, why I will be taken down individually?

I'm very anxious to sell on Black Friday and I currently have huge quantities in stock and in transit, so if anyone knows why or how to appeal, please help me! Thank you very, very, very much!

Hi @Seller_t93aUSZX9NL7P,

Here are a few possible reasons why your scar cream might have been flagged, along with some suggestions:

  1. Ingredient Restrictions: Certain ingredients can trigger restrictions in skincare products, even if they aren’t outright banned. Ingredients like certain essential oils (e.g., eucalyptus or tea tree oil), strong acids (like glycolic or salicylic acid), or compounds like hydroquinone are sometimes restricted or limited in concentration, particularly if they have therapeutic properties. Double-check if any ingredients could fall under these categories and ensure they comply with UK standards.
  2. Health Claims: If your product description or packaging mentions healing, reducing scars, or other therapeutic benefits, Amazon may have classified it as a medical product, which has stricter regulations. Ensuring that any claims are cosmetic (like “improves skin appearance”) rather than therapeutic could help align with Amazon’s guidelines.
  3. Classification as a Medical Product: Amazon sometimes flags products that address specific skin concerns, like scars, as medical items. This can require additional certification or documentation. Confirming the product’s classification as a cosmetic rather than a therapeutic product in your appeal might help clarify things.

Submitting an appeal with thorough documentation—product certificates, ingredient lists, and any compliance information—could be effective. Good luck—hope you’re able to get this resolved.
