I was wondering if anybody has come across this when trying to list a new product ? It's a required field that has only option, which is to tick the box . What is this does anyone know ? Some members of Amazon support seem to be confused too .

I would assume they mean the EAN/UPC barcode - though I may be wrong. Does the item you are trying to list have a serial number ?

You can make it mandatory for the Buyer to inform of a serial number of the item if returning it.
BUT, I've not seen it work in reality, perhaps something that will work ok one day.
It would be good to then make the Seller enter the serial number when sold and if the Buyer enters the wrong one when requesting a return, it gets rejected. If not the same one when received back, then no refund as Buyer fraud
