Royal Mail Business Account - Credit Terms

Hi

I have had a Royal Mail business account for many years now and have always had Monthly 30 Day Credit Terms.

I received my latest bill and it had changed to 19 Days so I opened a case with them and they have come back with the answer below.

My question is: Do those of you with Royal Mail Business Account have 30 Day Credit Terms or have you always had Monthly 19 Day Terms or Weekly 30 Days terms?

Thanks

"For your information the standard billing terms for Royal Mail accounts are weekly billing with 30 day payment terms or monthly billing with 19 day terms, which you are now on.

In error your account was set at monthly billing and 30 day terms which we cant allow. If you require 30 day terms then we will need to change the billing cycle to weekly.

At Royal Mail we invoice our customers on a weekly basis only if your usage is more than £1000. If usage is very low then you are invoiced every 28 days or when spend reaches £1000, whichever occurs first.

I hope this is a satisfactory response for your query; we have now closed this enquiry."

Don’t know about Royal Mail but most courier accounts I’ve dealt with have been weekly invoices/30 days credit.

We have been changed from 30days to 21 - they just keep reminding me why I loathe them quite so much.

had a fair bit of experience with this! For us it worked out as follows
We used to have a 30 day credit agreement with them when the outstanding amount hit £1000 plus Vat we were billed and then had 30 days to pay. This got a bit crazy as over the Christmas period we were getting a different bill every 10 days to 2 weeks as our bill was hitting over 1k threshold. So the other alternative was to receive a bill on the 1st of each month and have 16 days to pay

Please Pay By: Apr 24, 2019, and invoice date is 25th of March.
Also regarding amount it is less than 3k if that matters.
So no change for us.

It’s always been a weekly invoice, but paid on 30 days. Unless you have a 15k + credit limit then it’s 14 days terms. We had this email yesterday to change to 14 days because of our credit limit. Stand your ground on 30 days!

All i know is they take a fair chunk of my cash every month! i changed from 1st to 2nd class LL to see if there was a change and it’s pretty much the same!

what would be good is if we could pay ‘on the nail’! I saw the OBA page had a Pay Invoice link so I clicked that and paid for whatever was the invoice, only for the OBA to call me and say ‘Don’t pay’ or rather if you do then jump through these hoops with a load of numbers so that we can see what you’ve paid for!!! huh??

I’m now 100% click n drop, it would be good for RM to take the daily manifest as payment straight away, that way i can get account better instead of a huge couple of grand every month or fortnight or whenever they decide to take payment. I too have had inconsistent invoice payments.
