Canada Post Strike- Theyre not giving ANY refunds.

Made the mistake of sending a few items with Canada post before the strike began, and most of them have requested refunds, which I granted to avoid A-Z claims, since we know how amazon is dealing with those....

Called Canada Post to have them at least redirect these packages back to me once the strike is over and refund the original and redirection shipping fee. guess what... NO REFUNDS. no refunds on lost items, no refunds on shipping fees no refunds on any orders that got lost or stuck during the strike...

not only amazon handed FBM sellers the sh*t end of the stick, now Canada Post too..

Move your business somewhere else and ask Canada Post to issue refund if they want the business back. After the strike, more of 50% of small business customers will not come back.

Canada Post will redirect packages (if you bought shipping using your Canada Post account) but you will get charged $13 plus shipping cost to the new address. You need to sign into your account to do this, it can not be done over the phone.

A lost item is one that never gets delivered, for that you can put in an insurance claim (assuming it was insured). Canada Post is not exempt for those claims. But you have to wait until after the strike is over.

Guys, use NetParcel. you will pay way less for the same service and you can choose the carrier.

Similar strike happened in the United Kingdom last year, it started just before Black Friday and lasted until Christmas so no gifts arrived in time that stuck with them. Although they didn't entirely wreck the postal services because they were on strike for 2-3 days a week for 2 months the very important letters like bills and tax letters went through at least but not ecommerce parcels. I didn't pay any of their bills until the parcels were delivered and requested refund and cancelled their annual business collection immediately.

We only ship with Royal Mail to new countries we haven't yet set up FBA locally.
