Amazon automatically listed my items on all international channels with free postage...?

Hello,

I’m a new seller. I’ve only listed a few items as of yet and deleted a few more while learning the ropes.

I noticed that I had made a few sales on international chanells over the days since I listed my items. This surprised me, as I’d not listed them on the other sites, but when I had a look around I saw that Amazon had automatically translated them and listed them there. This seemed fine, not having run in to any problems at that point.

However, a few days later when more closely inspecting the orders, I see that it has listed all my items with the default delivery settings in all those countries, rather than the delivery template which I listed them under. This means I’m paying all the postage on the items sold.

Further, I notice than in the 5 other countries, the listing showing are a strange mix of current and deleted listings.

Does anyone know why some have uploaded or been deleted from the other sites, and how you can control which do this? Or any info about what is going on with this process, and how people normally approach it? I may have missed something, but don’t think I received any explicit notification or request for confirmation.

Thanks for your help

Are your listings appearing directly on other European Amazon sites are they appearing only on the UK site with international delivery enabled?

Unless you’ve deliberately opted for listing internationally, along with all the tax declarations &c that go with it, I’m not sure how your listings could appear on other Amazon sites.

Since lockdown, I’ve stopped listing internationally but I’m sure there must be others here with better knowledge of how it currently works.

As far as I am aware if you have the European markets linked the items you list on the uk site will also have them listed on the european sites (although not every single one, there is a reason not every one but cannot remember why)
You can check on your seller account info page if the European markets are active
https://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/hz/sc/account-information

If you want to continue to shipping to these markets you need to set your shipping costs in the shipping template for each individual country.

Development on the inconsistent international listing issue:

Amazon automatically translated and listed some items on other sites as mentioned, but not other items. On ‘Sell Globally’ I found a list of several listing which were not able to be translated because there was no existing ASIN on the destination sites. (There is no obvious pattern regarding which were translated.)

This makes sense as our products are own brand. However, only adds more mystery to why some were automatically translated despite there being no existing ASINs for those products. Does anyone know why this might be, or how to do it consistently?

It must be doable to automatically create the listing on the others sites despite lack of existing ASIN as it has been done for some already
