Can you add new clothing listings lately?! Problems with parents etc
Hello,
Since the new size attribute requirements came into force a few weeks ago (size system, size class, size value etc) we have been unable to create new listings of clothing items on Amazon.
Everything we list (whether it’s through feed file or manually) is being listed as a stand-alone child item and the parent doesn’t get created.
In the feed files, we get error code 8058. But the file has been checked and no required fields for the parent are missing and it’s being listed the same as as the previous 7 or so years when we have had no issues.
Also a lot of the children become suppressed with inaccurate size values, for example Amazon is showing XXL as xx_l and gives us an error message for that.
Is anyone else experiencing these issues?
Does anyone know a solution?
Amazon customer support are clueless (big surprise!)
All the best,
Martin

Hi Martin, I am at my wits end with this. Exactly the same as you. Endless calls and emails to support, no answer. Like you doing exactly the same process I always did, then nonsensical suggestions from Seller Support. Have tried about 10 times on one product, deleting then trying again and getting nowhere. Have lost several days of my life to it. Have you managed to resolve this at all? It seems to be just us two suffering with this problem then looking at the forums.

We are having the same problems, it has been going on for weeks now and customer service have been unhelpful

yes - its messy at the moment since the changes. The template documentation does not match the software rule base.

OK, we have finally discovered the input issue in our feed files that caused parents not to be created!
feed_product_type (column A, at least in our sheet) needs to be empty for the parent product. We had that filled in with “coat” (for example) and it caused the sheet to require size, colour and many other attributes for the parent.
So, we are now able to list parent products again.
One issue still remaining and one new issue since today:
- XS is being displayed by Amazon as x_s in product tiles, XL as x_l etc. (also a problem for XXL, 3XL, 4XL etc) - we have opened a case about this today as it looks bad in the front end to our customers and it also seems it’s causing suppression of our items sometimes
- A new issue today is that we are not allowed to list new ASINs of other brands (we are official retailers of) that the brand themselves haven’t already added to Amazon’s catalogue. The problem is that brands we sell are not active on Amazon themselves and are relying on their official retailers to list items. Trying to get in contact with the Brand Registry team to see if there is anyway we can be whitelisted to create new ASINs on behalf of these brands
All the best,
Martin

It is unbelievable. I managed to get several products listed yesterday by changing the way I showed the brand and one by one they have either disappeared or become stand alone listings, often with no photo. It is becoming incredibly hard to sell on here.

We have listed a few clothing items with variations through the Add Product function in Amazon without any problems lately.
Although it is fair to say the relationship between parent and child is fragile at the best of times. We encounter a lot of issues where we add to a listing (Barcodes, Brand match up) and then the parents disappear after a while - I believe this is because the original person who set them up deleted the parents.

Hi all,
We are having problems with amazon accepting size values when creating listings too.
It seems to allow sizes in years eg 2 years, 3 years but isn’t accepting age in months eg 18-24 Months even though 18-24 months is a valid value which you can choose from the drop down list. Very frustrating!
Also this new ‘size range to’ attribute that you have to fill in is so silly. Why not just let sellers choose the range in the size I.e 2-3 years of 12-14 etc etc like we used to be able to. This new way is so much more time consuming as well as a lot easier to make a mistake too!
