If this is not visibility rotation what is?

4 sales all day,
Then between 3pm and 4pm 8 sales then nothing since,

What are Amazon playing at? it’s almost as if the Amazon system flagged up that we hadn’t reached our quota for today so a flurry of sales came in a short space of time to get us back up, whilst that amount is still poor for the day it’s all a bit fishy to me.

I’m so glad I don’t subscribe to conspiracy theories.

PS that’s 12 sales, isn’t it?

Agree with the fish element. It is logistically impossible to have sales patterns we have experienced without interference of some sort. Massive fluctuations in sales and views do not happen on any other of our sales platforms as mathematically it cannot happen to the extent it does on Amazon.

A few years back an employee eBay dot com admitted, on a forum, they (eBay) fiddled with the system that choked off sales for all smaller sellers at various times to “help each and every seller get a piece of the action” or words to that effect, I’d been saying the same for months before that came out and I was seen as a crank by some other forum members.

It’s a virtual impossibility to get a rush of sales for half an hour or so, then hours of nothingness and the cycle repeats ad infinitum without some kind of behind the scenes manipulation going on. The excuse to do it was sheer cobblers IMO

It would not surprise me one jot if Amazon did the same for one reason or another

Do you think Amazon ordered your goods, just so that you met your “quota” then?
You don’t think it can just be the weird way of sales?

Well I wouldn’t have thought much of it but I only normally get a few orders to Germany but In the past 3 days I have had around 50 orders all for the same product to Germany and another 4 of a product that I normally only sell 1 a month

It certainly looks fishy but I think that when numbers of orders are small- as in a handful per day or less- any kind of sales pattern is possible. Inexplicable clustering is bound to occur at times, there would be something wrong if sales always came through regularly spaced. The human brain likes to see significance in patterns and to underestimate the extreme bunching that can happen through sheer chance. But I hear your pain and sympathise. Just trying to inject a little probability theory!

Have you considered your own spending patterns, online time etc in between your favourite TV programs making tea, sunny Weather, walking the dog , kids etc. We humans act in similar ways ask any physical retailer . Stand there for hours … nothing but then 5 customer s at once . . Like buses … And unpredictable. But somehow the crowd acts as a crowd.
Just saying.

At this level of sales, in this time period (a day), this pattern or should that be an unpattern (sic), of sales is easily accounted for by normal random variation.

auction site and amazon both hide listings, both now offer promotions were you pay them more for extra visibility. You see the sponsored posts? Obviously they want the ones paying them more to get sales so if you dont use the sponsored promotions you wont get the sales and your listings might be hidden. On auction site they changed there terms a few years back to say that you listings might not be visible and we all had to agree to it, probably no one bothered to read it as you didnt have a choice anyway
