Sole Trader to Ltd Company
Hello,
Ive looked around the forum at other messages on the subject and would like to ask a few more questions to people who have already done this, so I can ensure i do this right and without too much trouble.
The accountant as advised me to go ltd and i am now in the hands of the documents needed from companies house.
What im unsure about is the following
(1) Do I change my sole trader to ltd by applying to " transfer account " under business information ? then follow whatever instructions it gives me ? or is it done another way and if so how please ?
(2) I will apply at the bank to change the account name of the account to ltd ( so account details will be the same but under the new ltd name ) - is it best to do this first before anything else ?
(3) I’m also going to apply to change the vat number over from my sole trader account to the new ltd account - would it be best to do this as well before advising Amazon as per step 1 above ?
(4) Is there anything I need to know also ?

I believe you may need a whole new bank account as its technically no longer yours
Do that first just in case it takes a while

Thanks - I will speak to nat west today and set up new account just in case.
Do you know if to change from sole trader to ltd - do you have to do this under transfer account or is it done another way ?
