Why is Amazon allowed to manipulate raising the FBA inbound placement service fee?
Until now, there is no any announcement.
The fee for sending three locations is now the same as sending two locations. As a result, the fee for sending three western locations has been raised almost 50%
Is that what they say 'The fee range will vary by inbound location ?

Well, it all depends on how you use the service.
I've had over 2.5 million sales and am quite pleased. I only use FBM. That allows me to control every aspect of the costs related to each sale. Amazon only gets a commission when the item is sold, and I know what the commission is, before even listing the product.
FBA is a cash cow for Amazon, because the sellers who use it agree to allow Amazon to do what, and charge what, ever they want. That is no way to run a business for profit.

This was announced on this News Post on 12/5/23, Update to US referral and Fulfillment by Amazon fees. Additionally this help page, 2024 FBA inbound placement service fee, provides a lot of detail on the fee and best practices.
