Amazon refunding orders for no reason - No messages, no claims, no confirmation?
Hi,
We have just spotted that over the last couple of weeks a number of orders have been refunded by Amazon back to the customer. We were totally unaware of this and just randomly spotted an order and done some further digging. It seems it has been going on for a long time now and currently in the process of finding out what orders.
After contacting customer support they couldn’t really give me an answer as to why other than the customer contacted Amazon to say the order did not arrive and customer support refunded them. These packages are sent tracked and do show delivered.
We have no messages from the customer, and there are no claims open, return requests etc. I thought anything like this would have to be made as a claim? We are lucky to have spotted this at all. We do use SFP and all sent Royal Mail.
Anybody seen something similar?

Unfortunatly it happens to everyone on here .
You cant win no matter what you do.

This seems to be getting totally out of hand.
Customer support, not seller support refunding immediately simply on the say of the buyer. SO WRONG.

Lots of posts on this subject, Amazon are highlighting to Customers their orders are overdue, due to a glitch in not picking up RM tracking as delivered, so inviting buyers to request a refund…gift horse for those wanting a freebie.
Also be aware, while this may be advised as Amazon funded, it appears the funds are taken from sellers, but not actually refunds later?

Forgive me if i’ve gotten this wrong as i don’t so SFP, but when you use SFP don’t you assign all customer service issues to Amazon, including giving them the ability to make refund decisions on your behalf?

I have also been getting a lot of theses.
The worst one is I dispatched an item same day (SFP)
Next day customer complained and called us idiots for dispatching early, minutes later Amazon refunded customer.
Customer went to the delivery office after refund and collected her goods.
Things like this have been happening quite often lately and unless you spot it you will be at loss.
To resolve open SAFE-T claims explaining exactly what has happened and if it is SFP you will be refunded.

With SFP if a customer is refunded by Amazon Customer Services, the shipping was bought using amazon’s buy shipping service, the tracking says it was delivered but you have neither the money or the item you are eligible to apply for a SAFE-T claim for reimbursement. I would suggest you take a look at this with some urgencty if you have experienced a lot of these.

Yes, we found it the hard way too, this is hidden expense.
Also we found out recently that a fast moving item, obviously means we buy more to sell more, are now entering the inventory to only be Warehouse Damage after a few days, no reimbursements seen and still comes up in the report as warehouse damage after months, the same amount is now being sold by Amazon directly, I wonder how !!!
We are taking a break from FBA for now

I am beginning to understand why so many sellers are disgruntled at selling on Amazon. Refunding orders is the very tip of the iceberg with the multitude of problems with selling on Amazon.
You would think in this day and age selling on an online marketplace would be relatively straight forward. Oh hang, I think there is another platform that is readily available that doesn’t want the shirt off your back without at least telling you!!!
Amazon need to wake up big style if they want sellers to continue to operate on there marketplace.

Amazon will immediately refund any 3rd party seller item if there’s even a sniff of a problem. Wont do it themselves of course - recently my son tried to return some computer parts they sent wrongly, took 14 x one hour sessions with customer service, 7 failed collections (they simply never came) and after 4 weeks we demanded a refund and they refused until goods were returned.
I told them that if we behaved the way they do, they would suspend us. But repeat the mantra ‘their field, their ball, their rules’
I am mostly phasing out selling here, used to be 80% of my sales but down to maybe 5% now and thats as much as I will risk with such a petulant regime.

Yes, had about 20 a few weeks ago. I checked, and Amazon got all the addresses wrong on the orders which fed through to the labels and the customer did not receive them. I had no idea until I checked the disbursement account. About £400 in total - Joke!
