Packaging Information from Alibaba
Hi everyone,
I am new to Amazon as a seller and started looking up products on Alibaba. I have a few products in my cart, that I haven't ordered yet, but when I chat with a representative of the company to ask for packaging information and shipping time, they give me a higher price per unit for that same product. I though to just proceed ordering the products I have in the cart, rather than dealing with a sales representative, in that case I won't have the packaging information ( dimensions and cases number) that Amazon asks for when you want to add an item to the inventory. Can someone please help with that ?

I've never ordered from Alibaba, but I would suggest that with ANY source, you have at least the first shipment sent to you, NOT directly to Amazon, so that you can measure for yourself, and verify that everything is correct.
Just keep in mind that Alibaba can be a good source for some items, but may also lead you into buying items that may infringe on the IP of others, so be careful.

Great information from @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw plus I have read that people that do the Alibaba thing, that Amazon doesn't accept their paperwork, and might strand your inventory after you spend the money to get it to their warehouse.
If its a unique item, and you want to do Private Label, keep in mind other sellers have it in their cart as well, so I would ship this item to yourself, not the Amazon Warehouse, for a bit to make sure this item is acceptable.
Please read Seller University, and the forums for additional info to not spend your last dollar on something Amazon might reject later on. I read it often. Best of luck!

Underscoring and thanking Nisha and LivingADream above.
Please utilize Seller University before starting your journey, and particularly make sure you understand that items require a valid invoice (not receipt) and authorization to be sold on Amazon. I would strongly recommend a pause before making any purchases to ensure you understand policies and requirements to sell on Amazon.
