Marketplace Options?
This might get flagged but I will try anyway. As a reseller of new hardware and home improvement items, is Mercari an valid option as an additional marketplace to offer products and reach a different group of customers? (I am also on ebay..and decided against WMrt.)

We sell on a variety of marketplaces, including Mercari. It does not generate the volume that eBay does, but it does seem worthwhile, especially since we are able to list there using cross-listing software, so very little additional work involved. (can't post a link, but if you search for my blog, which is my store name, there's some more info).
I'll add that what we sell is very different from your category, so YMMV.

They also do not have any fees for whatever sales you do make there.

Experienced response here. @Seller_5DAavjaTJrP9T
@Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrwis correct. It does have a low volume, but I absolutely love their process. You ship using the label they provide. Customer has 3 days to rate or return. Funds are released after 3 days. Their percentage is pretty low and tells you up front (when you create the listing) how much it will be, shipping and all. Very transparent. Instant direct deposit incurs a small fee where the one that takes a few days is free and you don't have to wait.
Downside is you can't list multiple quantities. One listing per sale. You can re-list the same item so you don't have to create a new one.
It is also free to join so I definitely suggest checking them out. It doesn't have the Amazon sales by far but it is a really decent marketplace for both buyers and sellers. How eBa used to be years ago.

Decided against Walmart??? hmmm they are running adds like crazy on social media now.
Walmart is the hardest marketplace to get approved, they require a 1/2 million in sales of online yearly history as proof of online experience in order to even get approved. They are not wasting their time, it feels like with these requirements, Walmart is like an investment and a partnership with your company. In return, they see you will invest your hard work with them. Better sellers, better customer service, less problems for them long-term, not a bad plan if you ask me.
Last quarter they reported the largest sales of any company. Plus they do WFS which is Walmart Fulfilled Services, the same as Prime less fees. Plus they do not require a SS number, they ONLY use Business Tax Id's and no $39.99 monthly fee.
I get in trouble on Amazon a lot, small things, my last thing was my buy account was blocked couldn't login for 6 weeks, Y because they do not tell you what you did wrong, My company figured it out our company violated buyer limits, Glad the POA was accepted and great to be back but my account is a mess.
in 6 weeks of not logging in because we were blocked we have 1,875 late orders The account is at risk hanging on by a thread, I have work to do and hope for the best.
I have never applied for Walmart, my company does quantified, but Amazon to me is like a bad relationship for far to long, but we still love each-other and at the end of the day we always work-it-out.
PLUS Amazon is othering same-day delivery Walmart can not do that, no one can, They put the customer first, so keep your store small until your ready to play with the big-boys, nice chatting.

So it's like here.....

I've done research on Wmrt for a few months now and there is not much good said about it online. I decided to take the leap about a month ago. Its not as bad as people make it out to be but amazon is better, I know that's a hot take for some but I feel amazon will be number 1 for a while just the sheer customer base they have beats any other market hands down and I can only speak about my companies own experience. The major down sides I hear about amazon is:
1. Seller support: Ill admit this was not easily accessed in the beginning but once we got to a certain lvl (around like 15k or 30k in sales a month) I feel like we had excellent support when ever we needed it (maybe 5 times in 2 and half years) ALOT of issues can be fixed without contacting support if you put in the work.
2. Payment issues: I understand people who are doing this as a hobby and are using there own money will need there money asap and I do feel sorry for them if there are payment holds but if your running a business and don't have the capital (or cant get it) to make it 30 to 60 days then your doing something wrong and need to rethink your approach and if your money is held longer then 60 days then you have done something very very wrong or even illegal.
3.Ip violations account deactivations and all other types of violations: As a business owner you should know at least the most common violations if not all of them and be prepared for all outcomes. If your doing everything right it should not be an issue and if it is it shouldn't take more then a little bit of time and effort to get it rectified.
4.FBA intake time and shipping issues: This goes back to the putting in the effort and having 60 days worth of operating capital. Plan for 60 days for all shipments. We all know FBA intake can be very very slow sometimes but if your prepared and can wait for the sales then you will be fine 98.99% of your domestic inbound FBA will be available within 60 days.
Now wlamrt we have only used wlamrt for a little over a month so we are far from experienced on there but we do as much testing of a market as we can so we have ran into many issues and strange occurrences. First off if you are not proficient in excel it will be very difficult if not impossible to navigate listing errors on wlmart also you just got to hope things are working behind the curtain when you upload an excel sometimes ive had issues fixed after 10 or 15 min and sometimes after 48 hours and then sometimes not even fixed after weeks and there is no way to see progress or updates or status of any of this it all happens in the background very strange system, lots of string errors and false errors.
Walmart Seller Support: The only contact we have had with them is trying to argue refunds, The support has been very very unhelpful and 100% not on the sellers side to put this in to perspective we have done around 2.4mil on amazon and have had maybe 3 Wrong item returns (We do not send wrong items) But Walmart we have done 4k (starting out slow) and have had 3 wrong item refunds on 2 different items not to mention the 6!!! other refunds that have been given for missing packages even though the packages show delivered and the shipping was bought threw walmart shipping so think again if you think the scamming issue is better over there.
Payment. We had a 14 day hold for new accounts then got paid 3 days after the hold was up so worked out to getting paid maybe 3 weeks in. You have to use one of there 2 payment providers you cant just put in a bank account. (make sure you sign up for payoneer through walmart so that the transfer will be free when you do get payed)
FBA / WFS: We are sending out a small WFS inbound shipment monday the 20th I can come back and update on that if anyone is interested.
Fee's: Based on the bulk of are items with WFS(Mostly small light weight between $12 and $34) we have calculated a 3% profit increase over amazon but all the scam refunds we think we will lose out so we will do further testing but where things gets interesting wlamrt is offering UP TO 50% off referral fees for the first 90 days but be aware there is alot you have to do to get the full 50%
This is how I understand it you get 10% automatically you get 15% more off if the item is WFS you get 15% more if you advertise the item then the final 10% if you use there automate pricing but what they dont tell you and the first part is not even on there website you can not qualify for there "One Day and Two Day Shipping" before 90 days and also you cant qualify for pro seller in the first 90 days so you are pretty much guaranteed to lose the buy box to older sellers so it would be hard to pump volume in the first 90 days :/
I say all this to say the grass is not always greener on the other side we will continue to utilize and explore other markets but I don't think anything will beat amazon there number one in market share for a reason don't be so fast to jump ship and let the numbers speak.
----If anyone has any questions about are experience on amazon ebay or walmart please feel free to ask we are here to learn and give back any knowledge or experience we have.

Facebook Marketplace with shipping has a much larger customer base than Mercari. Facebook markeplace seller fee is a flat 5% versus Mercari that is 10% plus 2.9% payment processing.
