Changing the director of the UK Limited Company
Hello everyone
I have a limited company in the UK and I am the only Director of the company. I opened my Amazon Professional Seller Account about a year ago and provided the company information and my personal information as the "Beneficial Owner" and "Legal Representative" of the business.
Now, I want to make my wife the only Director of the company which means I will no longer have anything to do with the business of the company (in theory or on paper at least). But I want my Amazon seller account to keep running without any interruption and without loosing my account seller ratings/account history/ account health etc. It doesn't matter whether my amazon seller account remains in my own name or the new Director's name.
Can anyone please help me with the following questions:
1. Is it possible that the company's sole Director is replaced but the Amazon seller account continues to with the new Director as the Beneficial Owner and Legal Representative.
2. If so, can someone please tell me how and what to do in seller central.
3. If the Director changes in the Company House's record, does the Amazon get informed about the change or can Amazon know this without us telling them?
4. If Amazon know about this change only if we tell them, can I just keep running my seller central account the way it is i.e the company's information as "Business Information" and my personal information as the Beneficial Owner and Legal Representative?
I hope I have explained my query well.
Thanks

Note - the below should not be considered in any way legal advice - this is just going on our own experience on amazon.
if you are making changes to company directors, you should make the changes on Amazon Seller Central as soon as possible after you make the change on Companies House.
I'm unsure if Amazon are informed of CH changes, but spot checks could take place at any point. But you do need to change the data on amazon to match what is shown on Companies House. You need to make your changes under Account Info > Identity Information
We had it recently where one of our beneficial owners was our Managing Director (as per the rules on Amazon) but they left the business. At this point we needed to add in one of the other directors as present on Companies House.
You WILL go through reverification. It certainly used to be that you had 60 days to provide the documentation amazon require. Warning, amazon may ask for one piece of documentation, verify, then ask for more (rinse and repeat) - the 60 days DOES NOT reset each time. Once the initial 60 days is up - there is a risk your account will be prevented from selling or making disbursements, so bear that in mind.
