Signature Requirement on the listin
Hello All,
A while ago probably 2 year ago I remember seeing a high value item sold by Amazon that said directly on the listing " Not on the bullet points or item description" that the listing requires signature. is there a toggle or a setting one can enable to let the customer know that your offering will required signature upon delivery.
Customers are ridiculous. They order a $3000 item and then they complain because UPS wont leave it at their door without signature.

I don't think there is, but when shipping, I believe you can request signature.

Amazon can do things third party sellers may not do.
The detail page is only for product information. Nothing about the seller -- and that would be a seller fact, not product fact.

Personally I'd be mad if a $3000 item DIDNT have a signature required. I get mad when a $300 order doesn't require it and they leave that stuff on my front porch for all the world to see. Like thanks - i WAS home.. they don't even knock anymore. I have to put out a sign on my door that says "KNOCK AND GET A SIGNATURE OR TAKE IT TO THE OFFICE" I live in a small town thats pretty safe, but porch pirates roll through my complex DAILY stealing stuff.

When we use Sig. Con, we contact the purchaser by e-mail; let them know parcel requires a signature. In fact, we've made a template letter because we not only use it for high-value books but rare/difficult to replace titles, too-which isn't necessarily one and the same. (Might be the only signed copy listed on AMAZON).
We not only send thru AMZ but through our business e-mail w/ [IMPORTANT] AMAZON ORDER ID--- in subject line as required by AMZ. That way they both show in the messaging system.
Yeah, I admit it's a pain for us but only had one buyer out of, say, 2,000 orders using sig. con. for anyone to complain about signing(we tell them can arrange delivery through local P.O or on USPS website for a time that suits them)
We don't bother to send the template to commercial entities like FF or aggregators which should be used to signing for mail.

There is no toggle to inform buyer automatically.
1. You can shoot a buyer a generic message each time you send out a signature confirmation order. We use to do it, then we stopped when we realize it did not really increase or decrease the claims for failure to obtain a signature and packages get returned. Generally if the carrier fails to get a signature, they'll leave a note with instructions on how to get the package (such as requesting it held at a local hub) or them coming back and will generally try again for three to five days. If the recipient is ignoring someone at their door and instructions on their doorstep, they're definitely going to ignore emails.
2. We live in the day an age where Signature Confirmation is common practices. It's also common knowledge to leave a digital signature with carriers like USPS, UPS, FEDex etc and accept full responsibility for packages left unattended. Many buyers are aware of this, but will not provide a digital signature because they know they're accepting responsibility for the loss of a high valued item.
So if you want, you can include an intro email when you ship with signature confirmation stating the package will arrive within 2 to 6 business days and they should be prepared to wait for it during the window when that carrier typically deliveries to that neighborhood (which varies from neighborhood to neighborhood) or they can go to the carriers website and create a profile for their address and provide a Digital Signature in place of a physical one for all future deliveries.
Lastly, would you rather have a negative feedback because you inconvenience their day and the package is coming back to you or out the $3000.00 sale along and the negative feedback for not refunding them when they stated they didn't find the $3000.00 item that shows delivered but didn't ask for a Signature Confirmation for their convenience. Just keep doing what you need to do to protect your business and limit your risk.
