Blocked From Amazon DE due to VAT, Suggestions?
Hi guys,
I am a new seller on EU marketplaces, just sent some inventory to Amazon warehouse for FBA. But some days later my account get blocked from selling on Amazon DE due to VAT certificate.
Today, I received an offer from Amazon about their VAT service but after checking i found that their service is very bad. But I haven’t found any way to register this German Tax Certificate.
I am a Asian based seller so i’m looking for a tax agent that will help me to register this certificate online. Please give me some suggestions.
Thank you all.

A German VAT registered seller should be charging German VAT on sales to Germany - this is 19% on most goods.
Seller support will always make you confused. Amazon cannot give you VAT advice, and seller support certainly shouldn’t be trying to.
When you list a product on Amazon and set your selling price that price INCLUDES the chargeable VAT.
So yes, the buyer pays VAT on the product, but it is already included in the price. You are then responsible for taking that VAT paid and paying it to the appropriate government.
So
You set a selling price of £100 on your listing. This INCLUDES the VAT that is payable that you then need to pass to the government.
The VAT rate in the UK is 20%. That means that the price of the goods before VAT was 5/6 of £100 The VAT component is 1/6 of £100.
Price before VAT £83.33
VAT at 20% £16.67
Total price paid by buyer £100.00
VAT you owe the government £16.67

As you are an Asian based seller you have to register for VAT in every EU country your FBA stock is stored.
You should not send any stock to Amazon FBA before you are VAT registered. You need to make all your stock inactive now to avoid tax liability & fines.
Germany have a huge backlog at present could take months to register.

I applied about 2 years ago. The 7 VAT numbers took about 3-4 months to set up. I had to get documents signed by solicitors for Spain etc which all took time.

@Kika, Thanks for the information. I don’t keep any inventory in Germany and I don’t have taxable sales as well. Still, Amazon blocked my de account. Could we get our account activate without Tax Certificate?
Any suggestion will be helpful.
Thanks

I have also been blocked from selling on Amazon DE even after ticking the box to say I’m not registered to pay VAT but as is always the case with Amazon they have still gone and blocked me and have still not responded to my various messages via numerous open and still pending cases asking why !! Amazon are become more and more awkward and seem determined to make doing business with them an ongoing nightmare!!! I keep having products blocked and unavailable for sale under hazmat review etc even though I’ve long uploaded sds info and have been selling for a long time. My UAE account had been suspended and funds unavailable for withdrawal and still no reply or reason given or help from them as to why this has happened etc. It seems like they have some kind of vendetta against me as in sure many of you on here will also feel the same as myself !! I know Amazon make billions in profit but just think of how much money they must be losing across the board as I’m sure I am one of many thousand if not million of FBA sellers experiencing the same problems and pathetic service and extremely poor seller help on offer. Constantly being passed around and generic emails being sent back etc if I had any hair left I’d long of ripped it out by now !!! To sum things up when things are going well Amazon is a great selling platform but when you have any problems to resolve then you can just forget about it and it becomes a long term nightmare where you’ll get absolutely zero help to resolve your problems. If they invested more money into a decent seller service experience then I’m sure they would find their profits would rocket !! Sort your seller sevice out Mr Bezos
