Can you suspend an FBA listing? - 1 star rating has killed entire range
Hi,
We're a new company, with a new range to the market and our first review is a one star review - I believe the review to be genuine, but based on a belief that our product works in a different way to how it does.
The one star review has stopped all sales, not only of this product, but of the whole line (so glad I've been paying to promote it for 4 days before I spotted the 1 star review).
We're in the process of trying to reword the advert to ensure there isn't any on going confusion (and we've refunded the customer) but is there a way to suspect this listing while we work on it?
Thanks

I don't think so with FBA - short of doing a removal order. You just need to update it ASAP.
Could be wrong though!

Have you considered using Vine?
If the product is new to Amazon and you are willing to give away free units via FBA it's basically guaranteed 4/5 star reviews.
Free for 2 units, £60 for 3-10 units and £140 for 11-30 units (you still pay for the fulfilment costs). Go on the advertising tab on the right and click Vine. Anyway this should at least bring the average rating for your product up quite nicely.
If I was in your position and could take the initial cost to kickstart the listing after this slight setback then it's what I would be doing.

Delete the FBA SKU, after which the stock will move to stranded inventory. Then, create an MFN SKU for the same ASIN, ensuring the quantity is set to zero. Next, edit the MFN SKU, make the necessary adjustments to the listing, and save the changes. Allow up to a day for the changes to be fully applied. Once completed, recreate the FBA SKU, ensuring it is identical to the original, and the stock will become available again.

It is really nice to see a new seller who clearly appreciates customer perspective. If you carry on with this ethos you may do well on Amazon.
The Amazon front end is algorithm based around what will sell/customer wants "and" lots of other stuff (which we will never be privy too). I cannot see feedback on your seller account, so I guess it may be a product review.
I liken a seller account to a credit record and there are actions that can be positive and other actions that can be negative. There is nothing personal about Amazon.... I assure you Amazon will treat you as a number. They only have your sales records and data to judge you on. As much as this frustratres me, I do kind of get it.
If you are new new and your first review is not good, then this looks bad. Like missing payment on account that is new.
That is the best you can do right now. Just fix issues with the listings.
If this issue with 1 product review is affecting all listings and they are FBA then deal with the issues/descriptions. You already see and appreciate the cause, so crack on with fixing it.
I have just looked at a description of a product (a random product) and although it maybe factual, the bullets come across as promisary, maybe hype. It is not an advert, as you refer, its a catalogue listing. It is not your chance to sell with hype or promises. A listing in this catalouge needs to be based around facts.
I personally don't think you can work around any issues that may be affecting your listings as they may be at account level. As a new seller you yet have to earn a rep and the system has little to judge you on.
As I said early on it is refreshing to see a new seller so customer focussed and recognise an issue. Try seller university, if you have not already, as this may be valuable on your journey.

Not suspending, but stopping sales - maybe increase the price? Higher price may put people off buying temporarily while you reword
