Why is Amazon making us lower the price to Costco when it's not a fair comparison?
Costco is a membership-only store that can have low prices because of a required yearly membership.
This is not fair and should not be allowed. I understand regular stores and websites, but Costco should not be one of them.

Neither does Costco's vendors.
You're right, Costco has to pay 100% up front and stock the items in each of their warehouses before the item can be sold.
Costco can also just returns what sells to their vendors with no restocking fee as part of their sales contract.
Costco Vendors also have to pay for retail shelf display space.
Neither does Amazon. Costco and Amazon both put the cost of returns onto their vendors.

Technically you don't need a membership to shop at Costco either, you can buy a Costco gift card and shop membership free.
Costco has a full online model as well.

Most things on Amazon costs more than going to the store because they have to factor in shipping and fulfillment fees and commission fees. People shop on Amazon and have stuff delivered to the door for convenience.
