As per my understanding, it is available to entities with US origin only. But if it isn't true, we would also like to apply for the same.

Same here, our company is US-based but our manufacturing facility is in Ireland so we get rejected for the small business registration. If this has changed, we want in!

My name is Sandy from the Community Manager team.
Currently, Small businesses are eligible for this badge if they are registered with Brand Registry or participate in the Handmade program. The specific products that receive the badge are from small business brands and artisans based in the US.
This has not changed, but if there are any changes in the future, we will be sure to announce this to our sellers.

@Sandy_AmazonHow do we report sellers that have violated this - are not in the US and have the small business badge? There isn't really a "report abuse" for this one.

Great question.
You can use the "Report an issue with this product or seller" button on their detail page.
Just a note, the small business badge is something that is granted after checking if the seller has met the criteria. Even if the seller appears to be from a foreign marketplace, they could be artisans based in the US.
However, if you would like the team to check, please report and explain the situation. Please note that the outcomes of these investigations will not be communicated to you as they are personal information's of another seller.

My understanding of the small business badge is that it can be associated with U.S. residency, but not necessarily limited to businesses based in the United States, correct?

No, the business and manufacturing HAS to be in the US. We are a US business but we own the original 150+ year old manufacturing company in Ireland so we can't get the small business badge because it is not MADE in the US.
