Seller Using his Own Brand for products that are NOT his Brand

Hi guys,

I have only recently started noticing how some sellers have been putting their own brand or trademark name onto a listing when the product itself is NOT theirs. I became aware of this because in this same situation someone lodged a violation against me for using his trademark on the packaging, which was a farce as the product was a product by a different company with no relation to him or his trademark. But that’s not what this post his about.

I am selling FOUR products where this other seller has put his name into the title of the product and sometimes as the official brand of the product. But when I searched Amazon, over 200 came up where he has done this.

To be honest, I don’t really personally care as I doubt any customer would even notice. But the reason I am starting to care is that if he wanted to he could do what the OTHER seller did and lodge a bogus violation against me and any other seller selling the product legitimately.

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this? I don’t want to make myself known to this seller as he may become vindictive. But ideally I’d like his trademark work removed and the brand changed to the correct brand! Is it just a matter of submitting photos of all sides of the product showing the real brand, and asking them to remove his mark from the name and the brand? And would I have to do them all individually, or could I submit a violation/change request for all the products?

Thanks in advance,
Leanne

If there are sellers advertising items under incorrect brands, the only thing you can do is open a case with the Seller Support under “Products and Inventory” - “Product page issue” and “Fix a product page” and request a correction of the incorrectly-filled fields…

You will be asked to provide some proof supporting your desired updates, such as a link to the manufacturer’s website.

i have seen this as well and it did baffle me. i have also noticed that some sellers are making bundled listings. and from what i can see is that the seller obviously doesn’t own the main product as its a popular brand. but they do own the additional item in the listing. so i assume they are getting away with it legally and without breaking the rules as if i make complaint they will just say the items are bundled together.

Thanks @Kika, I’ll try that. However, the last time I did that I had a reply saying that only the brand owner can authorise changes to the listing. Which kind’ve defeats the object as he is not actually the brand owner of that product?
