Click and Drop OBA Prices 2020 different for same items?

Hi all, I have just got my Royal Mail Online Business Account up and running, connected to the Click & Drop program.
Found it a bit confusing to say the least but I am starting to get my head around it now, I think!

Just wondering if any experts out there could explain something to me with regards to the pricing?

I will mainly be using the Royal Mail 48 option for parcel below 2kg and have just started testing the water by sending my first few parcels.
What I can’t understand is that I sent 1 small parcel on 1st Oct 20 weight 1100g by the above service and was charged the following:
Surcharge 10p
Net Price £2.61
VAT 54p (20%)
Total £3.25

Today 7th Oct 20 I sent 3 identical small parcels, exactly the same weight as the single parcel sent above of 1100g each, using the same RM48 service and was charge as follows:
Surcharge 32p
Net Price £8.01
VAT £1.67p (20%)
Total £10

Does anyone know where the extra 2p surcharge has come from?
Or why the net price for each parcel has risen from £2.61 to £2.67 (£8.01 / 3)?

Basically to send 1 package cost me £3.25 but sending 3 cost me £3.33 each.
I don’t understand why the 8p per package price increase.
On this basis the more I send the more the price per item increases.
I have searched high and low on the internet to see if there has been a price increase for OBA user but can’t find anything. Only recent price increases in March 2020 and Sept 2020 and both examples above were posted in October 2020.

I am fully aware that a minimum of 1000 items per year has to be sent to be eligible for any discounts but is this calculated on a daily or per manifest basis or at the end of year?

Would appreciated any feedback from Click and Drop OBA users who have noticed something similar.

Royal mail turned into a crap show, to be honest. I’m currently looking into an alternative.
