Why are Amazon telling customers item running late when its been received

i dont understand this. I’ve just had an honest customer on saying item been received days ago but amazon are telling him he can get a refund. what the hell are they doing.

Several threads already on this over the last few months

@Jessica - maybe this thread can be closed as a duplicate but even better still, please can you highlight this issue with Amazon as it becoming a large scale problem for sellers.

well i got a response from customer services telling me they needed more information and to forward them the email I received from the customer.

I though great. getting somewhere. I forwarded the email.

all very self explanatory. customer not happy amazon are telling him to get refund since his parcel is late when he has received it. even more the customer contacted amazon to inform them of their mistake and they told hinm to contact me directly.

anyway another response from amazon after receiving all the information they requested and it goes like this……… are you ready

I understand that buyer is asking for refund for Order ID 20…because it is running late.

I am sorry to hear about the buyer’s difficult experience. If a customer contacts you in relation to an order managed by Amazon, it is always necessary to direct the customer to our Customer Service.

In this way, the customer’s request will be processed quickly, and the customer can receive immediate information. Customer Service can be contacted from the “Contact Us” page on the Amazon website.
