Help needed please with VTR

I’ve been wondering what I was doing wrong with my VTR as I’m in France and cross border shipping under €20 was supposed to be exempt. So I was marking my shipments with carrier LaPoste as that’s who was taking them, well I’ve spoken to seller support who’ve told me this is wrong as I have a UK marketplace I should be marking them Royal Mail (well that’s confused me). So ok I mark them RM in the first box then what do I mark in the second box as everything in there seems to be either tracked or 24/48 which if it’s coming from France will not be there in 48 hrs. Can anyone please enlighten me as to what I’m supposed to put in the first box (carrier) and second box (delivery service) to stop items under €20 appearing in my VTR metrics. TIA. 😁

Unfortunately, no-one at amazon seems to know how VTR works, or how it is supposed to work anymore.

The other day we were actually advised that Royal Mail 24/48 would be exempt from VTR - so you could assume if you marked them as such, then you would be exempt.

Frankly, with yours La Poste is a postage option in the postage drop downs in manage orders, so La Poste should eb right. for a start - that is who you have a tracking number for!

The VTR policy also states its only letter shipments below £20 when it comes to Amazon UK orders being shipped out of France. How they know its a letter - who knows.

Sorry - unfortunately, I don't think anyone at amazon will actually know the answer to your issue!

The policy says the following are exempt:

"Cross-border “letter” shipments below £20: Shipments to and from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Austria, Sweden or Belgium below €20 (including shipping, excluding VAT) are exempt from VTR if shipped using a “letter” method."

The UK isn't mentioned. When they say "to and from" they seem to mean it has to be both not either like it could be read.

OK, so I think I now have clarification of sorts which to be honest doesn’t seem fair as it impacts EU sellers and benefits UK sellers. It appears that anything under £20/€20 sent from the UK using large letter isn’t subject to VTR, however if it’s sent from the EU zone into the UK it doesn’t count as cross border. Maybe anyone from admin can verify this as it seems to penalise anyone from outside of the UK sending anything. Thanks
