USPS Indianapolis hub still backed up months later. Items go there and disappear for weeks/months
It's March and the hub for USPS in Indianapolis is still a nightmare. Back before the holidays started that hub was backed up with dozens of tractor trailers sitting out on the road side full of mail because the hub inside was full and not enough workers to handle the mail coming through the hub. This is still an ongoing issue there months after the holiday season. I just saw an Indianapolis tv news report that showed the hub completely unorganized and overwhelmed still. If you have USPS packages that show the last tracking stop at Indianapolis, just be aware it could be sitting there for weeks before it moves again. It's ridiculous and USPS should make changes to route mail out of there, anywhere just to get things moving. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up this is still a major issue months after the holidays.

Ditto. We are a Gift Store in Indianapolis and instead of getting better this time of year, for us it's gotten worse. Friday USPS came up for a pick up and picked up all our UPS items too. Luckily we were able to call them and have them redeliver back right away, or else we would have lost about a hundred customer orders to who knows what.
At this point, if FedEx/UPS is $1 more, we pick FedEx or UPS over USPS, it's THAT bad. It seems Amazon may be aware of this because I've noticed FedEx has been cheaper than USPS lately. Not sure if it's a coincidence or Amazon is subsidizing some of the costs to allow people a different option than USPS. Something has to change.
Good luck to you.

Same problem here. And of course Amazon customers get mad and leave negative reviews. We quit shipping anything USPS going through Indianapolis. Utterly ridiculous. I still have items that are going on a some things going south got routed to Palmetto, and that annex is backed up. If any of you do not use Amazon shipping, USPS is paying claims on these. We have received hundreds of dollars in claims checks so far.
