Product recall Jolly Rancher Hard Candy
Looking at my account several thousand £ has been given in refunds for products sold up to 18 months ago. When it was released that mineral oil was contained in the ingredients of some Jolly Rancher candy i immediately withdrew the stock units.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if a product is faulty, you have the right to a full refund within the first 30 days of purchase.
After 30 days:
If the issue is discovered after 30 days, but within the first six months, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and if that is unsuccessful, a full refund.
Perishable goods:
For perishable goods, the 30-day limit may be shorter and based on how long the item would reasonably be expected to last.
Has anyone else found them in this same position... with perishable items

Hi all,
I’m in exactly the same situation. I woke up this morning to over £7,000 worth of refunds processed by Amazon on my Jolly Rancher Hard Candy sales.
The version I’ve always sold is EU compliant and does not contain the harmful mineral oils (MOAH/MOSH). I was aware over a year ago that the US version included these substances, so I made sure to source only the EU-compliant version.
It looks like Amazon has taken a blanket approach—refunding all Jolly Rancher orders without contacting sellers to confirm whether their products actually contained the affected ingredients.
My supplier told me that someone received a refund today for a packet purchased six years ago, which is just madness.
I sold out of Jolly Ranchers a few weeks ago and have been selling them consistently for the past year. This morning, my supplier informed me they have challenged the Food Standards Agency regarding the recent food alert, asking them to clarify that not all Jolly Rancher products contain the harmful ingredients.
They’re now working on getting a compliance certificate confirming the version I sold is safe and within EU standards, which I plan to send to Amazon to try and recover the funds.
Has anyone successfully resolved a similar situation? Any advice would be really appreciated

This unfortunately tends to be how amazon apply their logic to product recalls. Sledgehammer to crack a nut.
I think there was a one a while ago where someones listing was identified as a fake eclipse viewer or something when it was nothing of the sort.
Eventually, they got a refund from amazon. What you'll likely need to do is gather up all your evidence and write to managingdirector@amazon.co.uk with your position.
Beyond that, you would be looking at mediation (look it up on seller central) then a letter before action.

As per another post, this is how Amazon operate - offer better than statutory rights and refund everyone immediately. The last one i can remember for perishable goods was i believe for Kinder eggs.
Sellers had thousands taken from their account but eventually it was returned. No harm in contacting the MD office though.

We've never had any of the banned Jolly Rancher ingredients in our boxes. Not all of them have mineral oil! There are still JR products that have ingredients that are suitable for sale in the UK. Our labels are fully UK food safety std compliant.
We're not getting anywhere with Seller Support or Account Health.
