8040 parent variation Error Code

Has anyone been able to get results fixing a brand registry 8040 error code
We have 100's of parent child variations under our brand that vary by either Size or Size/Color and amazon has broken of many child asins that now reside on separate pages. When we upload a ne inventory file Amazon gives us the 8040 error code. hen we submit a case that after many back and forths with support finally lands at Brand Registry we receive the following boilerplate response
"Hello from Amazon Brand Registry Support,
We understand that you have contacted us with regard to error 8040.
We have deep dived into the concern again, and were able to determine that the variation relationship is not approved because it does not follow Amazon's listing policy due to [Inconsistent/] variation.
Hence, you are being denied for brand
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding."
We own the associated Brand and cannot get any answers or method to fix this issue. Needless to say this is having a negative impact on our Amazon sales
