Amazon charging a different price to the price i set

I have been selling on my first ASIN recently and amazon have been charging @ the price i set every time, but on my most recent customer order amazon charged the customer @ £15.84 despite me setting the price @ £16.30.

This very weird. I contacted seller support to find out why they charged at a different price to the price i set and they said “There is no VAT so the price paid by the buyer will be less than the price set by you. If it was shipped from the UK then it would be expected to see 0% VAT on that”

I am so confused what this means - I am not VAT registered. This was the 15th and last unit i had that sold and every other unit has been sold at the price ive set (even when business customers bought it). Why is the fact that there is no VAT suddenly an issue? And the unit was indeed shipped from the UK, as i sent the stock via UPS to Doncaster, and it then underwent FC transfer to 10 different FC’s and this customer bought it while it was in FC transfer.

Please someone advise im new to amazon and need to know about this before i start investing heavily in it.

Those figures make no sense at all I agree.

Basically, if the delivery address is outside the UK, Amazon will ALWAYS remove the VAT element (whether you are VAT registered or not and sometimes even if the item itself does not attract VAT like books). We all know Amazon have implemented this all wrong, and they are the only marketplace I trade on that does it this way, but they insist they are right and everyone else is wrong - and the main reason I stopped doing international on Amazon.

However, even taking that into account, those figures make no sense.
If you set price at £16.30 and Amazon removed standard rate UK VAT (20%) as it was being shipped abroad, then I would expect you to see them credit you with an order value of £13.58 (£13.58 + VAT = £16.30)

I cant see why they gave you £15.84 at all
