Recently I’ve been seeing a lot of returns that has the same reason for returning a item. I sell on clothing category and most of my return reasons are ‘its too small or its to large’. I sell branded clothes and these brands have their size chart everywhere. To me it seems like that’s a easy way of getting away with prepaid return label.
The annoying thing is you pay for shipping and then you pay for the return shipping as well so you end up losing money rather than make.
So I was wondering can a seller actually deduct any shipping cost from the refund?

In a word, No.
Amazon offers free returns for clothing and this is something that you have to abide by.
However, there are circumstances where you can, assuming that you actually charge shipping separately. If your price includes shipping then it will always be no.

The actual answer is it depends. Once you get the item back, “IF” it is not in teh condition it was sold in etc, then yes you can deduct teh return shipping costs. This is within Amazon policy. I was under the impression that clothing had free returns and that was something Amazon expected all sellers to adhere to
