We've now had multiple issues with different Amazon support agents.
The first one was a week ago, who advised us that we could not use ISBN (International Standard Book Number) for listing products, even though that's one of the options when adding a product, and that we had to use GTIN's, which we had to buy through GS1. We tried to explain that ISBN's should work as it's an option when posting a product, such as UPC, EAN, but they were adamant that buying GTIN's through GS1 was the only way. We proved that they were incorrect, as we managed to post our books onto Amazon using our ISBN's, without buying GTIN's, which we couldn't buy anyway, as they limit you to 10 barcodes until you have £100,000+ in revenue, which is crazy to even put a limit on that.
Now today, we're having an issue with another Amazon support agent. All our products are posted and available on Amazon, however alot of the information on each of our products needs updating. On 22/10/2025, we meticulously, went through each and every product, updating product details, offer, and compliance, one by one. We received a popup for each one, saying that these details would take up to 24 hours to update, however it's been a few days now, and the products are still showing old information. So we contacted Amazon support once again, and this time, the agent asked for details, then went onto completely ignore what we said in our follow-up message, and just posted something scripted. What is the point of us collating all the information they want, only for them to then ignore us and for them to repeat themselves.
We just want to sell our books on Amazon. It should not be this frustrating to be able to list or update our product details on here. We are on so many other platforms and have had zero issues, but now, we're having back to back issues with Amazon.
Please can someone advise where to file a complaint against these support agents, and where we can get actual unscripted support.
